Data Center Specialist w/ a Secret Clearance

We are currently seeking a Data Center Specialist w/ a Secret Clearance to join our team in Merrifield, Virginia (US-VA), United States (US). Individual will provide support in day-to-day facility and Data Center operations deploying power distribution solutions, networking infrastructure, DCIM tools, and environmental sensors. The support will also include equipment installations, cabling, routing technologies and assist with basic power technologies. In addition to the day-to-day activities, a requirement for on-call support is also required on a rotational schedule defined by the government. Some travel may be required to support the remote data center locations. Locations include but not limited to:
Sterling Park Technology Center (SPTC) in Sterling, VA, Merrifield Data Center in Fairfax, VA, Alternate Compute Facility (ACF) in Clarksburg, WV, Equinix in Ashburn, VA and Equinix in Dallas, TX. Other job duties include:
Provide daily operational support of a global complex IT enterprise Participate in integrated project teams and provide feedback and/or recommendations for Enterprise IT projects. Assist with data center equipment placement process for multiple data centers in compliance with policies and procedures. Perform data center asset management within the framework and guidelines of organization's IT asset management structure. Partner with internal clients and provide project support, as needed, to ensure equipment planning and asset management project tasks, scope, resources, and timelines are adequately aligned to meet project plan requirements. Utilize knowledge of network topology, redundant power systems, structured cabling, HVAC systems relating to rack cooling, data center equipment enclosure requirements, and the physical data center layouts to perform and oversee equipment placement and planning for multiple data centers. Assist with the implementation Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) software to manage on-going changes within the data center environment. Assist facilities with power and environmental management, reporting, and alerting using DCIM suite and other related facility infrastructure tool sets. Assist in the installation and management of the data center environmental sensors. Rack elevation planning and port designation for installed systems using Visio, and Excel Installation of hardware; Servers, SFP's, line cards, switches, server racks, power and network connections. Organizing and maintaining cleanliness data centers, restocking supplies for day to day repairs Racking, cabling and configuration of fiber optic chassis, network switches, routers and servers; running fiber optic and Ethernet connections between chassis Proper organization of lab tools and equipment including fiber and Ethernet cable, SFP's, machines and chassis, power tools and misc. items Escorting of vendors and customers throughout the Data Center facilities.
