Overview:
Sponsor requires the support of a software engineer/ data architect to support a prototype and R&D; effort. This position specializes in collecting, creating, cleansing, correlating, analyzing, and storing data.

Responsibilities:
They are responsible for integrating and cleansing data from multiple sources to make sure that this data is accurate and valuable to the mission analyst. Data is regularly correlated, curated and integrated with other data sets and used in data visualizations. The specialist needs to have good problem-solving and analytical skills because they must often resolve issues quickly during prototype iterations. They must also have good interpersonal and communication skills in order to be able to work well with team members, vendors and the prototype team. They must be able to understand and explain complex technical topics with non-technical users. They are also expected to understand the data output of multiple analytic tools and how they can be integrated for more complete solutions.
This effort will span many components and include a variety of activities, including:
Collect, track, and integrate multiple sources of data
Design, develop, test and deploy in our AWS architecture
Test specific functionality and capability of multiple analytic software tools and algorithms.
Able to work in a fast-paced multidisciplinary environment as in a competitive landscape where new data keeps flowing in rapidly
Ability to query databases and perform statistical analysis
Able to develop or program databases
Able to create examples, prototypes and demonstrations
Good understanding of design and architecture principles
Analyzing stakeholder needs and creating recommendations on tools and data that may meet their needs
Work in a team environment; working hand in hand with the Program
Manager, Strategic Director other members of the project team, etc. to analyze feasibility of requirements, propose workable solutions, and work towards a successful project outcome
Strong interpersonal and communications skills
Qualifications:
Mandatory Skills
1. Demonstrated programming experience with one or more of the following: C, R, Java, Ruby, Python, HTML, JavaScript or related languages
2. Demonstrated experience with one or more of the following: XML and JSON or related data formats
3. Demonstrated experience manipulating large datasets (e.g. SAS, R, SQL, S-Plus, etc.)
4. Demonstrated experience working with COTS NLP (Natural Language Processing) and Entity Resolution tools/algorithms.
5. Demonstrated experience with principles of distributed computing and/or distributed databases and hands on experience SQL/NOSQL experience with schema design and query development (e.g. Hadopp, Hive, Pig, HBase and other Columnar databases)
Original Mandatory Skills

Education & Experience Requirements:
General professional years of experience may be substituted for specialized years of experience at a ratio of three (3) years of general experience within an occupation for one (1) year of specialized experience.Relevant certifications will be considered equivalent to three (3) months of specialized experience
An Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a
scientific or technical discipline related to the specific skill will be considered equivalent to eighteen (18) months specialized experience.
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a scientific or technical discipline related to the specific skill will be considered equivalent to three (3) years specialized experience (total equivalency is not cumulative when combined with an Associate's degree).
A Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a scientific or technical discipline related to the specific skill will be considered equivalent to two (2) years specialized experience (up to a total of five (5) years when combined with a Bachelor's).
A Doctorate in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a scientific or technical discipline related to the specific skill will be considered equivalent to two (2) years specialized experience (up to a total of seven (7) years when combined with a Master's and a Bachelor's).

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
